John: Marouane Fellaini a key player

John Heitinga has praised the recent form of Marouane Fellaini following his equaliser against Sunderland. The midfielder scored in the 85th minute to earn the Toffees a 1-1 draw away at the Black Cats on Saturday.

John believes Fellaini’s form along with the return from injury of Phil Neville and Mikel Arteta could push the Toffees up the table.

He stated:: "Fellaini is very important to us because he clears a lot of balls for us and if you see the game he was the best player on the pitch. The team spirit is good. Me and Lucas (Neill) are playing well together and learning how to play even better together. It was good to see Phil (Neville) back. Even when he's not playing, he's our leader and our captain. Mikel (Arteta) is working hard and it'd be great to see him back soon too."
